Job Summary

We're looking for someone with 5+ years of experience as a Business Development Manager to drive growth through technical sales and strategic client partnerships. In this role, you'll oversee the successful execution of electrical, data/telecom, and security technology projects. This hybrid role combines client development, estimating support, and project management to ensure profitable, well-executed projects from pursuit through closeout.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities, driving new revenue across electrical, data/telecom, and security technology markets

  • Manage all aspects of awarded projects including kickoff, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, job cost tracking, change orders, RFIs, client communication, and project closeout

  • This role is responsible for execution, profitability, and delivery performance

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, developers, general contractors, and design partners

  • This role is critical for pre-construction planning including, estimating, scope reviews, value engineering, bid clarifications, and contract negotiations

  • System & Market Focus: electrical infrastructure, structured cabling, fiber, access control, video surveillance, etc.; across commercial, industrial, healthcare, and education markets

  • Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and pre-bid walk-through meetings

  • Support strategic account development and repeat-client growth

  • Assist with go/no-go decisions and pursuit strategy development

  • Collaborate with estimating and leadership teams on pricing, scope, and risk evaluation

Performance Metrics:

  • New business revenue and client growth

  • Project profitability and cost control

  • Schedule adherence and quality of execution

  • Client satisfaction and repeat business

  • Accuracy of project forecasting and reporting

Qualifications
  • Proven track record of successfully closing deals and meeting or exceeding revenue targets in a technical sales or business development capacity

  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences with clarity and confidence

  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
