The Dean of the Upper School provides academic, spiritual, and cultural leadership for students and faculty in grades 5–12. The Dean supports the Headmaster by overseeing the daily operations of the Upper School, fostering a community marked by truth, beauty, and goodness, and ensuring that all teaching and discipline reflect the gospel of Jesus Christ and the mission of Bradford Academy.
Propagate the vision of the school to the Upper School faculty, parents and students
resulting in a Upper School full of truth, beauty and goodness and thus fulfilling its mission
Lead Upper School's devotional and spiritual life resulting in an Upper School growing in
faith, hope and love.
Oversee Upper School student discipline resulting in the Upper School having a godly
aroma full of grace.
Listen to secondary faculty needs and meeting needs as able resulting in faculty needs
being heard and met in a timely manner.
Direct the assigned tasks of the daily operation of the Upper School resulting in a school
that runs smoothly.
Oversee the purchase of Upper School materials and equipment resulting in Upper School
teachers having the materials and equipment that they need.
Develop and implement a system for teacher coaching and development.
Other responsibilities as required by the Headmaster.
A mature, joyful, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Membership in good standing at an evangelical church whose teachings are consistent with the school’s Statement of Faith.
Hold to an orthodox and historic biblical understanding of contemporary issues (including young earth creationism).
A clear calling to Christian education and an understanding of the principles of classical learning.
Demonstrated ability in leadership, organization, and employee development.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills marked by humility, wisdom, and discernment.
Master’s degree or higher, with substantial classroom teaching experience and prior administrative leadership preferred.
Capable of working with little direct supervision.
